Jade Nguyen

UNDERGRADUATE INTERN

Jade Nguyen (she/they) is a junior at Stanford University studying bioastronautics engineering and working towards a career in space medicine. As a 2020 Brooke Owens Fellow, she worked at Bryce Technologies and at Draper on displays and controls for a human lunar lander concept. Following the two internships, they took a gap year to train and practice as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). At Aurelia, Jade works on the Space Architecture Trade Study with Annika Rollock and Dr. Danielle DeLatte. 

Highly involved in her community and campus, she spends most of her time working as the Recovery Co-Lead and Head of Launch Operations for the Rockets Team in the Stanford Student Space Initiative. They also worked in a mechanical engineering lab, Lentink Lab, on Stanford’s campus. Outside of rockets, she has sung in an acapella group, volunteered, and helped organize campus events such as Stanford Model UN conference and Stanford Vietnamese Student Association Lunar New Year.

Jade focuses extracurricular efforts on expanding opportunities to other low-income students like themself. She works closely with the Leland Scholars Program, which is a bridge program for low-income and first-generation Stanford Students. They are also a Jack Kent Cooke scholar and a Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America scholar, both which are networks for low-income students.
