KENDRA RIVERS, NATIONAL SOCIETY OF BLACK ENGINEERS AEROSPACE SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP
My project consisted of multiple video recordings of myself being weightless and demonstrating the impact of zero gravity on two different-sized balls. One ball was a pickleball and the other was a tennis ball. The Horizon Zero-G flight was a unique experience that has shifted my perspective in life. Weightlessness was like a tangible action that was a manifestation of happiness or bliss. In that moment nothing matters and the only true existence is you and what you are feeling.
I will use selected recordings in a presentation facilitated by me to children of color in my community and in a couple of school districts in New York. The purpose of the presentation is to inspire more children of color to aspire toward careers in Aerospace.
